Michael E. Johnson, MD
Dr. Johnson and his family have joyfully relocated to this area from his home town of Miami where he has been in private practice for 27 years. A fifth generation doctor, he grew up between Florida and the Bahamas. His love of water and the islands led him to Monserrat where he attended American University of the Caribbean, a school known for its Ivy League visiting professors. After his internship in the U.S. Virgin Islands, he completed his residency through the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Dr. Johnson is known by his patients for being a relentless diagnostician. He is excited to serve his new patients in this community.
Andrea “Kelly” Hughes, ARNP
Kelly was born & raised in Canada. She completed her undergraduate nursing degree at University of Toronto. In 1991, she moved to South Florida to “thaw out” and pursue her nursing career. She worked for 10 years at South Miami Hospital in the areas of ICU, SICU, Cardiac Cath Lab and the Emergency Department. A lifelong learner, she completed her MSN and her ARNP license in 2001. She has been in practice with Dr. Johnson since 2001. Kelly is known by her patients for her advocacy and compassionate, thorough care. In 2000, Kelly fell in love with this area after arriving by sailboat during a stop-off in New Smyrna Beach prior to sailing across the Atlantic. She is thrilled to be here with her family and is happy to be serving her new community.
